Along with designing and maintaining the Chilliwack Branch of the BCRMTA website, helping to organize workshops/learning opportunities for members, I also create the Chilliwack Music Events Calanders each month.   Attend these concerts for a great evening of entertainment and support our local talent!

August 5th to 8th, 12th to 15th

Secondary Characters – Little Women the Musical - the tale that follows the lives of four very different sisters; Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy who teach us abou life as they learn to navigate their own lives.  A secondary Characters production in association with CSOPA.  Weekday and Saturday shows at 7:30pm Sunday Matinees 2:30pm, at the Chilliwack Arts Center.  Tickets – Adults $15.50 Seniors/Students $12.50.  August 19th

 Stompin’ Tom Connors – Heritage Park – Award winning, Stompin’ Tom’s first time back to BC in six years!  Visit for more information.  Floor seats $65 + tax or Bleachers $55 + tax.  604-792-2069.


 September 11th

 Mickey Rooney – “Let’s Put on a Show!”  is an autobiographical musical, highlighted with film clips, humour and anecdotal memories.  Mickey shares the stage with his wife the singer/actress Jan Rooney.  Taking from his rich 80+ year career, the musical numbers are broad ranged and are taken from his films, some original tunes and Jan’s vast repertoire, including her tribute to Patsy Cline.  The Show also features an onstage trio, and a moving tribute to Mickey’s days at MGM, with Judy Garland.  Chilliwack Cultural Center - Tickets go on sale August 9!  $54.32 each (includes fees and taxes).


September 3rd, 4th, 5th

 Chilliwack Bluegrass Festival - Heritage Park – Traditional Blugrass music with fun activities and a great atmosphere!  Free corn Roast every night!  Prices – weekend Pass $60, Friday $15, Saturday $25, Sunday $25, Youth(13-17) are half price, Children 6-12 $10 for the weekend/$5 per day, Children 5 & under free,  For more info call the Chilliwack Community Arts Council 604-792-2069.

July 10th-18th

Harrison Festival of the Arts - The 32nd annual Harrison Festival of the Arts runs July 10 to 18 in beautiful Harrison Hot Springs. Program details and schedules are now available online and tickets for the Evenings in the Hall concerts and events are on sale now. Over ten days the Harrison Festival presents music from all corners of the globe, as well as visual and literary arts, theatre, a large outdoor art and craft market, workshops and a special day for children.



July 10th, Saturday - 7:30pm and July 11th, Sunday - 2:00 pm

Pieces of Eight - Featuring guest soloist, mezzo-sprano Evanna Chiew from Vancouver, along with the ensemble Vocaholics (the re-invention of last year's Solfeggietto).  This year they are supporting the Feed the Children Program through the Chilliwack Optimist Club, as well as the Chilliwack Academy of Music in their move to the new Cultural Centre.  A fun-filled program lined up, with their usual eclectic mix of staged musical theatre, a cappella numbers, and solos; from audience favourites to slightly more unusual numbers!  Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.  They are available online at , from Long and McQuade on Luckakuck, or from any members in the group.
